Tag Toolbar Size glitch

Hey, been experiencing a bizarre glitch.

When opening a project I’ve previously made in SketchUp, the Tags Toolbar seems to get much longer (I’m assuming to accommodate the tags’ names).

When opening first the default template this remains short as its original state.

Is there an actual reason for it?
I am trying to keep my Toolbar “clean” and organized but as the Tags line is becoming this long, it shifts my extensions out of sight beyond the screen.

Just wondering if this is deliberate or a bug.

I assume no one experienced this thus far?
Or no one knows the cause of this issue?

I didn’t notice it (I’ll check later today. ) But I don’t think it’s intentional. More like a bug.

I can suggest workarounds though.
Don’t use this Toolbar :blush:, use Entity Info instead to change tag.
Or
Move it

  • to the right of the other icons
  • one “empty row” below
  • to the bottom above the status bar
  • floating

My laptop’s screen is already small, so adding more rows is something I attempt to avoid :sweat_smile:

I will deselect it for now, perhaps until a bug fix would arrive.

The problem isn’t with the tags tab; the problem is with the materials tab. Delete the materials tab, and you’ll be able to shrink all the other tabs.

Kostya, We are talking about Tag Toolbar not about Trays… :grin:

I think it is probably a “feature”. The tags toolbar uses a drop-down selection, which perhaps can’t be programmed to change width on the fly, so is expanded to be able to show the longest name in the list.

BTW, I just tested it. If you give a long tag name, the Toolbar size will not change in the current session. Only get longer if you open it by double click on a file.

However if you are opening first the default template, then opening your file with long tag name from Menu File>Open (or recent), the Tag toolbar won’t get longer. So that one a 6th workaround… :blush:

Off topic:
But it would have been much more useful to program the Measurement Toolbar in a way that it would always fit the Value into…
