Has anyone had any luck trying to install and run SU 2024 on Windows 7?
I have my old Windows 7 desktop that I really want to keep working on but I get this error:
The procedure entry point CreateDXGIFactory2 could not be located in the dynamic link library dxgi.dll
I guess I will finally be forced to upgrade to Windows 11, but if anyone has a solution to this issue I would sure appreciate it.
I’m no expert, but that sounds to me like an incompatible version of DirectX. Can that part of Windows 7 be updated, or is that not possible?
Try switching to the classic render engine , the new one is DirextX12 based and I don’t think Microsoft ever made that for windows 7 which was discontinued 13+ years ago.
update : Actually they made a version for windows 7, however it is not a straightforward install.
I’m not sure if this is for developers to directly integrate into a piece of software rather than install on the OS.
Also, it would not surprise me if you still get errors after that
