Error: Entry Point Not Found (dxgi.dll)

I have this annoying error, that I don’t understand at all:

Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point CreateDXGIFactory2 could not be located in the dynamic link library dxgi.dll.

I found this: SU 2024 and Windows 7 but learned nothing! from it. How can I resolve this issue?

I’m with Pro version 240594SUPx64 on win_7_SP1_x64 with GT650Ti gpu

You do know that SketchUp 2024 does not support Windows 7, don’t you?

Search ‘entry point not found windows 7’ and read.

I see. no I did not know. can you advise on what is the last SU version supported on win7?

Windows 7 hasn’t been supported for many years. The last version to support 64-bit Windows 7 is 2020 and for 32-bit Windows 7, the last version was 2016 but you wouldn’t be able to get a license to use either one if it were available. Or are you using a cracked version?

I went with the official 7-day free trial Pro version, ready to pay if it would work, but it didn’t.

Now I downgraded to portable PRO 23.0.397 x64 and so far it works.

I wish dudes from SU marketing division would get less stupid/lazy and include minimal requirements, right under monthly fee! as the outdated help page (https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup-checkup) clearly states: “SketchUp requires a Windows 7 64-bit operating system or higher. You will not be able to install SketchUp on lower version operating systems.”

They provide System Requirements and other information about installing SketchUp on the website.

Read down the page and follow the links.

I still do a lot of my development on my old Windows 7 machine running various versions of SketchUp 2017 - 2023. Sadly 2024 does not work on Windows 7 so I have to buy a new machine and put Windows 11 on it just for that version, I really dislike Windows 11.
