SpaceMouse Pro not working with Sketchup

I am wondering if you have had any experience with 3Dconnexion’s SpaceMouse Pro not working with Sketchup. the CadMouse works fine, but the Spacemouse does not, even when the 3DX software says it is connected. I have their most recent driver. This has been an issue for more than a year now. I have reached out to CDX on the problem, but not successfully. Thought I would check in with you to see if you had any ideas. Thanks!

Do you have the current drivers from 3D Connexion installed?

Does it work if you run the 3D Connexion Home app (which should have installed with the driver) and try the sub-apps launched from there such as viewer or trainer?

  1. I just paired the SpaceMouse Wireless using the 3Dconnexion pairing app. Pairing was confirmed by the app.
  2. I am using MacOS Catalina
  3. 3DX Driver is the most recent (not the Big Sur beta version).
  4. The Trainer does not seem to be functioning. Clicking on its icon does not open the app. View and puzzle open, but there is no interactivity between the SpaceMouse (nor my CadMouse Wireless, which is also connected. The CadMouse works fine in Sketchup, in case I had not made that clear.

Did you do everything as written in the manual?

Setting up your 3D Mouse

If you have a wireless 3D Mouse, please connect the supplied USB cable during the initial installation process.

This makes me think there is a conflict between the two devices that is preventing them from functioning correctly. I’ve heard of others who had difficulty getting a wireless SpaceMouse to work. Another thing you could check is the 3D Connexion user forum to see if there is any discussion about similar problems.

I’m in Sketchup Pro 2021.

Sorry, but how do I update my profile?

Click on your avatar, the W in the orange circle in the upper right corner of the forum. Then the person icon.

Have you followed the Evans Method?

I will try the Evans method. It looks good.

I did find that there is a lot of conversation on this subject on the 3DX forum. Quite a few people mention the same problem that I am having.

I think as a next step I will upgrade to Big Sur and then use the new 3DConnextion driver (using the Evans method). Thanks for the tips!
