Slow response to selection

Just within the last couple of days, response to the selection tool is about 10 seconds. This is to slow to make work effective. Is there anything that can be done about this. I went back to a model that had not been changed and had the same problem. A new model with only a few pieces of geometry is also slow, 2 seconds to register a selection.

What gives here? Anybody else have the problem? Any ideas what it might be? Is it a windows problem?

One other strange development. The same model works fine in the on-line version of sketchup.

Please do a quick scan of the forum or a search for selection tool slow.
You have win 10 and Intel graphics so it’s a pretty common issue.
