I’m experiencing a change in the window display size/zoom when I start a new skp document. The screen display is magnified with giant buttons and text. The rest of my applications in the Windows environment are normal size.
The strange thing is that when I open an existing skp file the display zoom is normal. The large zoom effect only happens when I open a new skp session by clicking the taskbar icon and a new skp file (from my template).
I’ve included here 2 screen shots - image1 is normal zoom and image2 is large zoom.
My only workaround so far is to first open an existing file, then use this session to start a new file.
Yes this computer is a Windows Studio with screen res 3000x4000px. Display zoom is set to 200%. (My profile shows the normal day-to-day computer I work on)
SketchUp supports screen scaling up to 150%. I wonder if this is the issue. You could also try if using the Classic display engine might change the behaviour.
More information…it appears that when I open version 2023 files the screen is normal, but when I open 2024 files the zoom changes to very large. This problem is only occuring on my Windows Studio computer, not my normal windows workstation.
SketchUp 2024 has a new display engine that still has some quirks to be ironed out. This might be one of them. If you switch back to the Classic engine you lose Ambient Occlusion.
