Sketchup Web Keeps crashing when trying to save

I recently bought an apartment off-plan and I wanted to model the space in 3D first so I could plan the exact layout of furniture. Someone recommended to use Sketchup for this use case and it was working fine until recently.

Unfortunately, I am no longer able to save my Sketchup Web project, it keeps crashing on every save or autosave.
I tried using different browsers (I normally use Firefox) and even tried saving on Windows, but to no avail.
I tried going back in the version history to an older version of the file but the save still doesn’t work.
The file size is currently 70MB (on the larger side due to importing objects from the marketplace and not purging unused objects every time)
I tried purging all components to reduce the file size, but even after purging I can’t save the project. The effectively keeps my file locked at 70MB.

When I look at the developer console in the browser I see the following message:
“Cannot enlarge memory, requested 2230509568 bytes, but the limit is 2147483648 bytes”.
Followed by “Failed to perform rendering task: index out of bounds” and some other follow-up errors.

Is there any way I can still recover this project in a usable state? Is there a way to reduce the needed memory?

Are you able to open and work on the file?
If so go through and delete any heavy warehouse stuff that you are aware of.
Then select what is left and copy it.
Open a new modelspace, you’ll have to close the other in the process.
Then Paste in Place.
And see if you can save that.

I tried to perform the action as you requested, but pasting the objects in place of a new model also crashes the program. I removed all unnecessary warehouse objects first, but no dice.
I wonder if the texture of my floorplan is too big? It is on the larger side (~2MB). But I needed it to be accurate for scaling purposes.

Ive got nothing else to offer, Linux is a different world for me.

Clever Idea, but it seems that this heap limit is hardcoded inside the javascript code.
I tried it anyway to no avail.

It might have been deprecated:)
There was a moment in time where I could take advantage of it…
