I have an ipad exclusively for the sketchup app, but it isn’t all that different from the web app. I absolutely detest ios for everything else. Has anyone successfully run the web app on a Samsung tablet? I assume you would need a bt mouse or touchpad and keyboard to work well. Thanks in advance. Btw, i did some forum searching with limited results. I am looking for first hand experience.
Android tablets are not supported for SketchUp for Web use. Viewer should work but not the editor due to some limitations with touch functions.
I have a Microsoft Surface Pro that runs SU Pro just fine. Or you could use the online version for Pen only navigation. I think its the best of both worlds when I have to meet at the jobsite or am traveling.
What year is your surface pro?
“I absolutely detest ios for everything else”
Purely out of interest - can you elaborate as to why you detest IOS?
I absolutely love IOS as well as Windows, and some of the IOS apps (i.e. reminders, notes, calendar) could help you run a decent sized business.
Its a Surface Pro 9 you want at least 16 gb ram 32 is better. You can find them on Ebay factory reconditioned for around $1000 us. You can use the pen to easily orbit and zoom or change scenes, but Drawing in Pro gets tricky. the online version is more like the ipad, Im not sure what tools the ipad might have that are different.
But im guessing if you used a bt mouse and keyboard it runs just fine?
It has a detachable keyboard with a touchpad mouse but I use a bluetooth mouse yes.
You can also have a usb c dock and have a monitor and keyboard ready to plug into at your office.
