The viewer is limited. It is a viewer. It is in the name of the software.
You came here to rant, not ask how to solve your problem.

Exactly, I came to rant, you are right.
Because as I said, measurement is artificially limited.sad about that.
As I say it seems not possible to rant.
But as Iāve found something else, everything is fine.
Iām sorry, you came here to rant, so we choose to rant as well.
ranting is not a one way street. you canāt expect to dish on something without backlash.
It is completely possible to rant, proof is in this pudding, in both your and our messages. weāre just ranting about different things I guess.

The only thing I rant about is this limitation.
I just think a viewer is a viewer is not an explanation against this artificial limitation.
the forum is a good place to express your feelings. I am fully aware that this may shock regular users of this software.
But believe me, when youāre looking for a solution and you donāt have a lot of time, itās irritating and you can feel it in my complaints.
So I completely understand the responses Iāve had, theyāre normal.
And ultimately, I found this forum very active. That a good thing for user and me if I need help again.

If you donāt have a lot of time it would make more sense to just ask for a solution to your problem in the first place, instead of rantā¦
You likely would have had a suitable anwer sooner.

I understand what you mean.
I know itās not pleasant to hear your favourite programme criticised, but what Iām saying is a reality.
It appears that Iām not the first and probably not the last to complain about this.
Itās just a shame.
And in fact Trimble connect only partially solves the problem.
The interface is completely different.
Well, maybe one day Iāll decide to pay to read files, why not.
I donāt think any of the people who have responded use the SketchUp Viewer. I donāt, so I donāt care whether it has some feature or not. Trimble has decided that some features require a subscription. Itās nothing users can do anything about so pouring venom on users is of no help.

At no point did I spill venom on any user.
Not on you, not on anyone.
I understand that we do not have no right to complain but ask help.
Some people probably sell hours of Sketchup training. Others have their reasons.
But this is a public forum. So you have to accept these kinds of opinions.
If Iāve been disrespectful, you can ban me. Iāll understand that.
In any case, I think itās good that the forum is also a place where you can complain about the limits of the application.
Maybe that wonāt change anything. But if nobody says anything, then nothing will ever change.
In the end, I found the exchanges rather constructive.
As I said, I havenāt criticised anyone here other than the famous limitations of the viewer.
