Sketchup Pro running Really really slow on Mac Mini

I just downloaded Sketchup Pro

Going to youtube - learning the very basics

it is constantly freezing up on simple simple tasks like using the rotate function on a cube

I have maximum 3 rectangles I created

and when I try to rotate - the software has a real hard time

I use Auto Cad 3d effortlessly - I mean effortlessly

and the same with Photo Shop

Can somebody tell me the solution

software looks amazing

I am on the 7 Day Trial version

thinking about buying the Full 2025 Pro version

just testing it

but if you need a 20,000 usd computer for it to work

then I do not know what to do

That’s strange, I can still use sketchup on my old 2013 MacBook Pro, and on my M1 Max MacBook I can run big projects without any lag issue. What graphics engine are you using?

I suspect he meant is the SketchUp setting under graphics to use the new or the old SketchUp graphics engine. Your mini should be able to use the new engine. Different question than the one we must frequently ask Windows users, as the graphics hardware is built into the Apple silicon.

Edit: you might want to try a different monitor or connection to the monitor, as that could conceivably affect graphics performance.
