SketchUp Make 2017 (64-bit) Setup FAILS

While running setup I get the following message:
Module C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp
2017\ThumbsUp.dll failed to register. HRESULT
-2147024770. Contact your support personnel.

If I click on ignore and then try to launch SketchUp I get:
SketchUp.exe - System Error
The program can’t start because api-ms-crt-runtime-I1-1-0.dll is
missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

When I tried to reinstall I get the same errors.

You’ll get a range of suggestions to fix this if you search this forum for ‘thumbsup.dll’.
