Sketchup License

I just downloaded Sketchup Pro. I heard, on one of the Sketchup Forum pages that someone had Sketchup Pro. and their license expired. They said something about being able to switch to Sketchup Pro Free version. Is this true ?

No. It’s not true. There is no “pro free version”. When the subscription expires you won’t be able to use SketchUp Pro.

What you describe would sound right if you had downloaded SketchUp Pro 2016, but hasn’t been the case since then. With SketchUp Make 2017 it would start as Pro then fall back to the Free version.

These days you would use the web version if you’re using SketchUp for personal use, and wanted to do that for free:
