Hi there, I’m a student who has recently downloaded SketchUp for the first time and am experiencing technical difficulties. The screen flashes with shapes and lines whenever I try to use different tools. Is anyone able to assist?

What version of SketchUp are you really using? Your profile says SketchUp for Schools which is a web based version for young school children. Your video shows something else.
What Mac OS? 24.0.598 does not identify a Mac operating system version.
What you show looks like a graphics issue due to the graphics card. You could go into Settings>Graphics (under the SketchUp menu at the top left) and change to the Classic Graphics Engine. After that use Command+Q to quite SketchUp and then restart it.
I agree. The integrated Intel HD 6000 graphics are not supported on the Mac for the new SketchUp graphics pipeline using Apple Metal. You are limited to using the old OpenGL pipeline.
