Then I guess your only option would be to start over.
thanks
It’s possible you’re saying that folder is not found, and not that you found the folder but not the auto save file.
In the hope that it’s the folder you didn’t find, try copying and pasting this into the path field in File Explorer:
%LocalAppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2025\SketchUp\working\
Had you worked on the same model in older versions of SketchUp? If you only recently changed to 2025, the previous version copy of the file may still be somewhere.
I did but still not working
having the same issue.. I had tried all the proccess that show in google but faild. Project deadline is near, have to complete this asap. What can I do to get this .skp file back? Please help!!
Start by sharing the file and giving us some information.
What operating system? “2025” is not an operating system. Where were you saving the SketchUp file while working on it? Did you have a power failure while working on it? Are you using a cr acked version of SketchUp?
SketchUp Version: [ SketchUp Pro 2025]

Operating System: [e.g., Windows 11 ]

File Type:**
.skp
No, it’s not power failure. The file is in USB flash drive while i’m working on it. Then I saved the drawing and close the .skp file, but later when I want to re-open that it shows the popup “This does not appear to be a SketchUp model " . I have tried every possible way, also used SketchUp Web to import the drawing but faild.
A cr acked version? This can be a cause for file corruption.
Put that in your forum profile.
This is a common reason for file corruption. Share both the .skp and .skb files so we can see if anything can be done to recover them.
Most likely you’ll need to start over. When you do, don’t work on the file saved directly to a USB flash drive. Save it locally and copy the saved file to the flash drive if you need to have it there.
Also save backups to your Trimble Connect storage..
This is office project so I actually don’t know, is it cr acked or not, also now i’m not this situation to ask anyone.
Okay.
How can I share the files?
How large is the file? If it’s 16 Mb or less, drag the file into a reply. If it’s larger, upload it to DropBox and share the link.
It’s 18 mb
Here is the link
10 hours of work is totally gone ![]()
Remember that advice from next time.
Thank You
