“This does not appear to be sketchup model”

Help SketchUp Community,

I’m currently working on an important design project using SketchUp. I recently encountered a critical problem with my file. When I try to open it, SketchUp gives the following error message:

“This does not appear to be sketchup model”

What happened is after I saved the file my laptop suddenly restart, at first I thought it will be ok because I already saved it before it happens, but it’s not, even the skb file doesn’t open, please help me

The SKP is completely filled with zeros. Could you give a link to the SKB, in the hope that it has good data in it?

More than 75% of the .skb file is nothing but zeroes. No recovery for it, either.

What version of SketchUp are you really using? There’s no Classic license for SketchUp 2026. Is it a cr acked version?
