Can someone help me with the problem: failed to open document?
I’m using Sketchup 2024 Pro and read multiple forums which had the same problem. So I already tried using the .SKB-file. I get the same message with that file if I want to open it in SketchUp. The file is stored on my internal D drive.
This is the link to the project which has the problem. Al my other project working fine.
No I get the same message: failed to open document. I tried it with putting a copy of the skb file in another folder and then rename it and in the same folder with only changing from .skb to .skp but both methods aren’t working
You could share the .skb file so we can see if there’s anything to recover. If the file is filled with zeroes there’s nothing to retrieve from it.
Going forward make sure you are saving your file to the internal drive on your computer. Also take advantage of the Trimble Connect storage included with your Pro subscription. In addition to saving locally, save your model to Trimble Connect storage.
If you can look into it and see if it has the same problem. Then i know what to do next for this project.
In replie for the tips: I already save ecerything on my internal D drive on my computer (I don’t use servers). Thanks for the tips to make use of the Trimble Connect storage.
It doesn’t look promising although the file is not entirely filled with zeroes. It might be that Colin could trieve something from it but right now I wouldn’t be holding my breath and I’d go ahead and get started on creating the model again.
Do you might know how this happens that the file data gets filled with zeros or is it a bug or something?
Because I got this problem when my computer was running the sketchup project + enscape and then got into sleeping mode. When I came back my sleeping mode didn’t turn on so I had to start my computer again. After that sketchup was closed en when I started te program the projectfoto was blank at the homepage and I got the error on my screen when opening the project.
Maybe the story above helps eventually solving the problem or understanding how it happens?
Do you have Autosave turned on? It might have helped.
I too have found that sleep isn’t good for the applications I use. That is why I have turned it, and especially Hibernation off.
