Would it be possible to return the tool action back to last tool used after using Tools > Solid Tools > … . I think this would be a great feature, because after using Solid Tools, typically another call for a repetitive action is not needed.
If an option within the SketchUp Application to return back to the last used tool is available----after using Solid Tools----please let me know.
Hi @jake_gevorgian - Suggestion: I basically have that “feature” enabled by default by having my left hand on the keyboard all the time (the right one at the mouse). Once I am done with whatever tool I am using I just “thumb” at the space key and it returns to the select tool.
It works for all functions and it doesn’t take much time to learn because the space key is the biggest and most reachable on the keyboard. Space will bring you back to select. Try it.
I think our methods are pretty similar – except that I don’t use a mouse; I use the trackpad on the MacBook Pro. I also tap the space to cancel Solid Tool’s next sequence.
I just recorded a screen recording of the workflow with the Solid Tools that I use.
Note: I have hotkeys for Explode, ST Trim, ST Unite, Double Click to Select a geometry (then remember to press Space ) Then do the rest.
I just think that Solid Tools doesn’t really need to be active once it’s been used…
