SketchUp>CNC Exporter/App

Hey Folks! I’ve been hard at work creating a SketchUp>CNC workflow/app.

This isn’t the first, or second time I’ve done this: Fabber: The SketchUp>CNC/Laser cutting solution

This time however, this is a ground up re-work of the idea.

For those of you that would rather watch than read check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og8_KpImuMg

What you’re seeing there is a fully featured 2.5D machining app that accepts SketchUp models. While the UI is pretty basic, this is far beyond some javascript browser based demo app. This is an actual “CNC as a service” app that has a full nesting engine, G code processor, post and machine database, and much more. In other words, this is a real legitimate CAM tool.

This will get your SketchUp model out to CNC in minutes instead of hours, and requires no other CAM tools.

This means not only will it help you get out the geometry you want out of SketchUp (And other CAD systems) it also has the right post processors for your particular machine. Often times apps like this only do “standard” G code, but this is tailored to whatever machine you have (we build posts for testers as needed)

Right now this app is in a closed beta and we’re looking for folks to test. Ideal testers would be folks designing cabinets, furniture, van interiors, stage and set design, architectural paneling, RV parts, etc. Really anything that can be cut on a 3 axis machine.

If this is you, and you’ve been looking for a really easy way to go from SketchUp to CNC please get in touch. If it’s a good fit I’d love to have you as a tester.
