CNC, SketchUp, OpenCutList workflow

Hello:

The company I’m working for is looking to buy a CNC Machine, Morbidelli 100 or a Homag (no model known yet). The ideal workflow would be SketchUp/OpenCutList? export file, have CNC handle the rest. This would be our first CNC machine so we are not experts on this and the sales people we are talking to don’t have the knowledge to help us. IS anybody using anything like this for their workflow? I am using Claude to help me research and it obviously took me to this forum. Thanks!

i use OpenCutList for clients without CNC machines, or as a reference for those that do.

for CNC or 3D printing, i typically take the model apart and lay out the parts in several SU files. then export as STP (STEP) or STL files along with DXF and/or DWG depending on the client. they will then convert into their CNC machine code - e.g. GCODE, NC or TAP etc as needed.

Thanks
