SketchUp 2026: Push/Pull and Follow Me are completely unresponsive even in a new model

Hi everyone,

I have a strange issue with SketchUp 2026.

Push/Pull and Follow Me are completely unresponsive, even in a brand-new model.

I have already tried:

  • Clean reinstall
  • Deleted AppData, LocalAppData, and ProgramData folders
  • New Windows user account
  • Classic and New Graphics Engine
  • Latest Intel graphics driver
  • Verified the selected entity is a Face
  • No extensions installed
  • Ruby Console shows no errors
  • Event Viewer shows no SketchUp application errors

The attached video demonstrates the problem.

System

  • Windows 11
  • SketchUp 2026 v26.1.252 (64-bit)
  • Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro
  • Intel Iris Xe Graphics

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

you’re on a top view. parallel it seems. your video doesn’t show that it’s not working, it just shows a top view.

could you try while looking at an angle ? in 3d ?

In this example You have drawn a face facing one axis (blue) and are trying to push/pull it it along another (green)

Which is not how it works.

Thank you for your reply.
I understand how Push/Pull normally works.
The problem is that Push/Pull does not work in any direction, even on a brand-new rectangle in a new model.
I also tested Follow Me, and it is completely unresponsive as well.
Could you please watch the attached video? It shows that the tool does absolutely nothing.

The attached video shows you using it in a way that would never work, which is why we’ve both asked.

Can you record a video of it being used in in a way that would work normally?

If you insist on working that way (Top View - Parallel Projection), just type the number, then Enter.

I found something important.

Push/Pull works correctly when I rotate the view with the Orbit tool and work from a 3D perspective.

My original video was recorded in Top View, which may have caused confusion.

However, I am still investigating whether Follow Me is also working correctly.

It caused no confusion to any of us, we could see it was pilot error.

yes, that was the point I made in my answer / video

uhh, could you film it as well? I know a couple of ways follow me won’t work due to specific camera / geometry placement, but it’s easier to diagnose looking at it
