I want to import a PDF into SketchUp using the PDF Importer from estimtorforsketchup.com. This is the extension I always use for this and never had a problem until this morning. This is the 1st time trying to import a PDF since the latest update.
I click on File, then click on Import, then when I try to pick the file type it freezes. The drop down menu won’t even open.
I figured it out. Well, I mean I reloaded the ruby from the website and it worked. What’s weird is that the latest version is listed in Extension Manager, however it was not found on my laptop, only an older version of the extension was found.
I wonder if the the migrate extensions tool only took the 1st version of the script it found to my new laptop.
The migrator only copies the extensions you have installed in the earlier version from that version’s Plugins folder. If you hadn’t updated the extension to the current version before running the migrator you would wind up with the older version of the extension installed in the new version of SketchUp.
FWIW, the Sketchucation ExtensionStore does not copy the extensions from the old version. Instead, it installs the latest versions of extensions hosted at Sketchucation when you choose to install your bundle of extensions. Of course that doesn’t help with extensions from other sources but it’s worth knowing that when installing a new version of SketchUp or installing on a new machine.
