Sketchup 2025 Bug Splat

While working on detailed door profiles and joinery elements in SketchUp 2025, the software suddenly crashed and displayed the Bug Splat error dialog. The issue occurred during standard modeling operations—no unusual plugins were used. After the crash, I attempted to recover the file, but the recovered version still crashes intermittently.

You haven’t given any useful information for anyone to fix it. Have you sent in the Bug Splat reports with your name and email address so they can be linked to you?

Your forum profile says you are using “Free Plan 2020” There never was a freen plan of SketchUp 2020. What operating system and graphics card? Your profile shows nonsense. Please correct it.

Share the .skp file.

Thanks. Just to confirm, I’m using an active SketchUp Studio 02 Annual Plan, licensed directly from Trimble.

I’ve also updated my forum profile to reflect the correct version and system info.
And yes, I did submit the Bug Splat report along with my name and email address so it can be tracked properly.

Regarding the file,I’m unable to share it as it’s part of an ongoing confidential office project. I hope you understand.

The crash happens consistently during component editing and profile detailing in SketchUp 2025. No heavy extensions were used.

So you have a Studio subscription. Put that in your forum profile.

No. You haven’t. It still shows this:

That’s good. Maybe @colin can find it and see what is responsible for the Bug Splats.

Where have you been saving the file while you were working on it?

Hiding your profile just makes it more difficult for others to help you.

I can see the 19 bugsplats that you sent in. Thanks for those.

I’m not sure it will solve things, but it would be worth updating SketchUp. There were a few useful fixes in the update after the one you are using.

What does the extension Poliigon do?

You can get the later installer from this page:

Whenever I try to create a phase for a door profile or use the Push/Pull tool on the profile, my SketchUp 2025 file crashes unexpectedly. A BugSplat error message appears immediately after the crash. This issue happens consistently during these specific actions, and I am unable to proceed with the modeling. Please advise on how to fix this or if there are any compatibility or performance issues with my current setup.

Hi @colin,

Poliigon is a website that offers PBR materials and belongs to the well-known Andrew Price, and the extension for SketchUp allows importing those materials, or models and HDRIs.

Thanks. It was the only extension listed in the crash report that I didn’t recognize. I don’t think it causes the crashes.
