Did just that, tried relaunching and getting the same results. You can’t open the application because it’s not responding…
Can you take a screenshot of the pop up error that says this?
Does the icon bounce in the dock when you try to open it? Does it stay open, or does it crash and quit? Do you have a button you can click? Please, more info.
If you’re still having problems, or even if you’re not, there is an update to the Mac version.
Download this disk image file:
https://download.sketchup.com/SketchUp-2024-0-598-243.dmg
Open the DMG so that you have the disk image window open. Make sure SketchUp isn’t open. Drag the SketchUp 2024 folder onto the Applications alias, and let it replace the one that is already there.
After the copy has finished, right-click in the disk image window, and choose the eject option:
Then go into your Applications folder, SketchUp 2024, and open SketchUp.
When you have launched SketchUp look in the Dock. If there are two SketchUp icons and one doesn’t have a for under it, that one is pointing to the wrong place. It may even be pointing to the copy of SketchUp on the disk image. Drag that one off of the Dock, so you only have the real one.
Hi, the icon bounces in the dock, and then just stops bouncing after a while, but nothing else happens. Nothing really crashes as nothing opens up either. The first time around I got the attached notification. When I tried just now for the second time, the icon just stopped bouncing and no notification at this time🤷🏻♀️
Please see attached.
Hi Colin,
Did exactly as you asked. No change. There’s only once bouncing icon in my doc, however Sketchup is still not opening/installing. See attached.
Open Terminal (it’s in /Applications/Utilities/). Copy this text and paste it into the Terminal window:
/Applications/SketchUp\ 2024/SketchUp.app/Contents/MacOS/SketchUp
Press Return, then wait a while. If SketchUp succeeds in opening, or if it continues to bounce, copy the text that appeared in the Terminal window. Reply with that text.
Hi, following up on this.
Any further thoughts how to troubleshoot it?
Hi @HannaTrzyna. While I personally do not know what might be causing the issue nor is installation something I specialize in, I do know that using the @ command on the forums usually helps to get the attention of the person you are messaging.
I also know that I saw colin earlier by the elevator so I’ll go ahead and stop by his desk around lunch to make sure that he saw your post. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this soon.
Do you still have SketchUp 2023 installed? If you don’t have it you can download it from here:
See if that manages to launch. If it also fails that makes it seem like a macOS issue. If it works, then maybe SketchUp 2024 has a problem.
You could message me with the email address you use for your subscription, so I can check if there is anything wrong in your account.
Don’t take this the wrong way but… Have you rebooted your machine?
Hi team,
I wouldn’t take it the wrong way, but restart was the first thing I did.
But… All my issues were fixed this morning! I had an aha moment I reinstalled the Mac OS. This resolved the issue right away.
Thank you for your support, appreciate it.
That’s Great! Some times you just have to kick computer’s in the transistor’s
Totally, I believe the old OS was lacking in some ways. I have been experiencing other issues, small, so that didn’t think much of it.
Glad it worked out, thanks again for all your help guys!
might also have to do with the adobe zii cracks…
