Sketchup 2024 freezing when creating scenes and saving

Hi
I am tearing my hair out…
I have spent time building a model for a client and when I create scenes and/ or save having created scenes my computer is freezing and requires hard reset.
I have tried removing some materials that I thought may be causing an issue.
I have checked the hardware setup.
I have purged the model.
I have copied the model into a new file.

Your model is very heavy

Get rid of the ugly hedge. It increases your model’s complexity by about 100x. Avoid unnecessarily high-poly entourage elements. Hedge removed:

Thank you. The hedge is not in one of the models but that still crashes the computer.

I have moved the model into SU2023 and the problems have stopped. it is possible to save scenes and save the file without crashes.
I also tried using the file in SU2024 again with task manager running to see if there was any obvious surge in CPU or GPU usage when creating scenes or saving and everything remained ‘low’ in terms of % usage - typically max. 4% - but SU2024 message of ‘Not responding’ repeated.
This seems to have resolved the problem with the model then exported into Layout 2024.
Any further thoughts would be appreciated as this will be a problem going forward if I can’t use SU2024 for creating scenes.
