SketchUp 2024 files crashing upon opening

I’m a SketchUp Studio subscriber and I recently updated to 2024. I was very happy with it until recently when certain files simply would not open anymore. It starts to load and then shuts down before the rest of the plugins show up on the toolbar. Some are old working files and some are brand new that I only did a couple hours of work on. Seems to randomly pick which projects cannot open anymore. The crazy thing is those files will open just fine in 2024 on my laptop or with SketchUp 2023 on my desktop. I really need to be able to work predominantly on my desktop and would like to continue using 2024 but it is a serious problem if I simply can’t open the file. I tried to Modify and Repair SKP2024 to no avail.

Desktop Specs: Intel Core i9 13900K 24-Core / RTX 4090 / 64GB RAM / Windows 10
Laptop Specs: Intel Core i9 10980HK 8-Core / Quadro RTX 5000 / 64GB / Windows 11

I finally figured out it was the SU clock plugin that was the culprit. Only in 2024 and on my desktop for some reason.

Did you mean SK Clock? I can’t find an SU Clock extension. Alas, SK Clock says Windows compatible only and I am on Mac.

If I remember right, SU Clock is ancient, probably almost 20 years old.

It’s a LIB Fredo tool. I’ve used it for years to keep track of time on my projects. It is pretty old. As soon as that would automatically try to load it would shut down the whole file. I guess I’ll figure out a new way to keep track of the time spent working.

Have you posted in Fredo6’s thread on the extension to report the issue? He might have a fix for it.
