Sketch Up Campus Tutorial Issues

Hi All,

I am not a CAD person - just a very regular person with no tech/CAD experience. I used to use the Sketch Up App on my Mac but since that has ceased, I am trying to get my head round the very different Sketch Up Free Online version & really struggling. It is only used for what many here would use for basic stuff like room plans etc.

I signed up for Sketch Up Campus & started with the Sketch Up Fundamentals - both the Desktop & Online versions which requires one to download the Fundamental zip files on to ones computer. I opened the zip files & they created Sketch Up Fundamentals Folders on my desktop & inside are various topic folders & each one has a .skp files inside them.

When I try to open the .skp files, I get a message that says “Sketch Up quit unexpectedly”.

I use a 2015 Macbook Pro which has MacOS Monterey 12.7.4.

Can anyone please kindly help me & advise how I can rectify this as I really need the guides to help me learn thus new online version of Sketch Up.

Many Thanks!

No, they don’t require you to download anything. The files are provided for you to follow along with the instructor should you choose to. You can always just watch the video lessons without the exercise files.

The web app should not quit. It is browser-based. You access it here. https://app.sketchup.com/
Which version of SketchUp are you opening on you computer? Your profile says ‘Free Plan’ but there is not free desktop app of SketchUp.
