Sketch pro 2018 on a Mac mini?

I am considering a purchase of Sketchup Pro 2018 and due to liability reasons the folks at Sketchup sent me here because they cannot make hardware recommendations.

I currently have this system:

Mac mini, 2.6 GHz intel core i5 processor, 8 Gb 1600 Mhz DDR3 Memory, Graphics Intel Iris 1536 MB & 1TB HD

The system requirements say intel based GPU’s are not recommended at this time. Has anyone run sketchup on a Mac mini with these specs? I sure don’t want to spend money on something that won’t work.

Thank you,

Phil

Your system will probably be fine for SketchUp unless you normally work with really large models, like way over 100MB. I have similar Intel graphics on my MacBook Pro and it runs SketchUp fine.
If you already have that Mac Mini, why not try the Pro trial on it and see if it’s fast enough for you?

Thank you for your reply. I will download the rial and proceed that direction. I just didn’t want to waste time if I got negative comments back on my system. Thanks again!

Phil

The recommendation to avoid Intel graphics is, I understand, mainly meant for PC users. Drivers for Mac hardware are written by Apple, and usually OpenGL applications have worked OK in all Macs. Of course the performance of many embedded Intel graphics circuits is nothing to write home about.
