Mac Mini Advice

Hi SketchUp’rs–

Do you think SketchUp will perform well on this Mac Mini configuration:

  • 3.2GHz 6‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 4.6GHz)
  • 32GB 2666MHz DDR4
  • Intel UHD Graphics 630
  • 1TB SSD storage

Thanks,
Kevin

Well, it will run, but traditionally, the mini’s only have internal graphic cards, which means they share the same Ram. A lot of mini’s are used as Server and might not have a screen attached, at all.
To perform great, SketchUp needs a fast processor and a dedicated 3D Graphic card to render all the pixels on your screen(s).
It all depends on your usage and models.

Thanks - that’s helpful advice.

I would be more optimistic than Mike. I think that the worse case is that it runs slowly, and only with more demanding models. Remember the your Mac mini is more powerful that almost all other computers during the life of SketchUp.

Thanks Colin. Also good to know.
