Sk2024 keeps crashing with live render - both enscape and vray vision

running enscape trial on a mac studio 2023, sketchup pro 2024, every time I start to place lights it crashes and restart the computer. It happens also using vray Pro vision… not sure which problem is it , if enscape, sketchup or apple… but can’t continue my work like this…

that’s the report after crash:

Is not neccesary that you post 3 times your error. Yuo should complete your profile in order to be helped (Mac Os version for example). There are some bugs related to Apple silicon chips.

¿Have you tried to remove your plugins in order to test if the problem are not the render plugins?

Hi,the mac version is sonoma 14.4.1, it mostly crashes when i use enscape render (always) and vray vision, so I thought my be something related with the live renders…?

Does it crash if you switch to the Classic renderig engine in SketchUp?

It looks like you are seeing two crashes. One is where you close the Enscape window, and soon after your Mac hangs up and reboots. That appears to be fixed in Sonoma 14.5, which is on a release candidate at the moment, and so should be available to update soon. It also doesn’t happen if you choose to use the classic graphics engine.

The other is a crash of SketchUp when you are placing Enscape light objects. That happens on Mac and Windows, with the new graphics engine or the classic one. I have reproduced that problem, but not yet found why it happens.

Can you give the steps for Vray, to make it crash? If it’s the complete lock up and reboot of the Mac, I imagine it will also be fixed by updating to 14.5.

just got the notification, it’s out.
@rtches time to see if it fixes stuff

These are the steps I used when working on the Enscape reboot issue. Before you update to macOS 14.5, can you try these steps, or repeat your own steps, see if your Mac crashes?:

  1. Make sure that the new graphics engine is chosen in Settings/Graphics.
  2. Start a new document.
  3. Click the Start Enscape button in the Enscape tool palette.
  4. Back in SketchUp, draw a rectangle
  5. Close the Enscape window.
  6. Cursor is now locked up, and a few seconds later the Mac will reboot.

Hopefully that will cause a crash. Now update to 14.5 and try the steps again, and let me know if things are improved.

thanks, will try later today
