Hi - I’m new to SKP and need to apply a very simple, crisp black and white shingle style to the exterior of a house model. Any recommendations on where to get one? The shingle style within the program is too random and sketchy. 3D warehouse seems only to have elaborate styles with shadows, etc.

Do a Google image search and find a suitable image. You can import that into SketchUp and use it as a texture. My preferred method for creating a new texture image is to use File>Import. Make sure Use Images as Texture is selected. Then apply the texture to a rectangle which has the same dimension as your material should cover.
