If you look at the top left of the shadows box there is a button to turn on shadows, then those options become active.

ohhh, i hit that then famous “not responding”
after closing some feature on the laptop, and restarting SU, it now displays those options. thanks. I thought that was the button, but as soon as i hit it, things locked up.

it is now working.
Shadows put a huge strain on the graphic card, so if you have a complex model and a weak card they can be troublesome. Best only turn them on when actually needed.

yeah, i am doing this for presentation purposes only:) Daves models made me jealous so now i have to try it out for myself haha
