Send help please!

Recently I noticed a glitch (I’m not sure if that’s the proper term) in my Sketchup whenever I am modeling. I sometimes encounter this problem when I move objects and unfortunately ending up with its original position instead of what I’d like it to be. Another situation is when I push pull a face, that glitch appears and my model ends up in a distorted-like looking object. Unfortunately I have no idea how to solve it. I hope you can help me with this issue

Can you post a model that exhibits this behaviour?
Is your model very far (like kilometers) from the model origin point, or has it parts that are very far?

No sir, I always practice modeling near the point of origin.

the red line is the path of extrusion (should be) but this happened sir.

Ah, yes the dreaded autosave glitch bug.
Sometimes in the middle of a geometry or translation operation either at the geometry or group level - the autosave kicks in and SU will glitch and corrupt the geometry or your component/group will end up far away (it will look like its disappeared but if you Zoom Extents, you will see it.
Unfortunately it is not undoable as SU has ‘forgotten’ what you were doing and has saved (and saved the autosave) in the glitched mode.
It caused me some big headaches for quite some time as it would happen multiple time per day but it is much better under the version I am currently running (19.3.252).
Turning off autosave obviously helps and remembering to manually save at more regular intervals.

I will try that sir, hope it’ll work. Thank you!

Hi there, I am having the same problem with 2020. I’ve never bump into to this kind of situation with the previews version of SKP . Did someone solve this mystery?
Thanks
MM

Share your .skp file so we can see what you have going on.

this is an example where this “glitch” or unexpected move happens to a component.
when it does it to a geometry, the geometry gets destroyed.
Undo doesn’t put back (in this case) the components in the correct location.

Thanks

Work file.skp (3.3 MB)

Does it still happen in this version of your file?
Work file.skp (3.2 MB)

yes it does

Share a screen shot so I can see what it is you are trying to move.

Your model does seem to have some excessive nesting.

I do agree probably there is an excessive nesting! When this anomaly happens again I will share a screen shot.

Thank you
