Hi everybody. I am making a model of an old orthodox church and I need ro make a model of a crucifix. The wooden cross is already done but I have a problem with Jesus, namely I need to select all of the white part of the surface around the body and remove it. Any ideas?
Thanks
Are you still using SketchUp 2017 Make?
You can’t just delete the white. If I were doing this, I would make the white pixels in the image transparent and save the image as a .png file. Then I would use Image Trimmer from TIG’s SKM Tools to cut out the shape. You could also use the image as a material on a face, trace the outline with the drawing tools, and erase the unwanted parts.
Example: The image with transparent background is laying on the ground plane.
Thanks very much for the advice. Now I need to learn how to use the
SKM Tools, which I didn’t even know existed. Can you suggest a good
tutorial?
Thanks again

I don’t know of any tutorials for it but you can read through the SKM Tools thread on Sketchucation. There’s not much to using Image Trimmer. Import a .png file with transparent pixels, save the file, select the imagge, select Image Trimmer from the Tools menu, respond to the prompts when they appear and that’s it.
Use the Sketchucation ExtensionStore tool to install SKM Tools as you would for any of TIG’s or Fredo6’s extensions as well as many others that are available from Sketchucation.
Hi Dave. Here I’m back again! I’ve downloaded the SKMtools file, but it arrived as a .pdf file, which does not open in Acrobat reader. Should it be an .rbz file or what? Where can I get the right file?.
Thanks again
