Section lines doesn't appear correctly

Can anyone tell me how to fix this bug about the section planes line not appearing correctly in Sketchup? This image shows a line appearing and another that is bugged. It is important to appear correctly so that I can insert a section plan scrapbook into the layout (as I don’t like this representation of sketchup’s default section cut line), but for this I need to have as a reference the correct position of where the cut is being made. .

For better understanding of what is going on and a correct answer you need to share the model file, not only an image.

MODEL FILE

@Wo3Dan - the OP is talking about the section plane references not showing up in LayOut in plan view…

LO 3d view:

Seems like the problem is related to hiding the horizontal cutting planes.
The problem is evident in the original file.

But after unhiding the horizontal cutting planes … updating the scene … then selecting the horizontal cutting planes and hiding them again … and then updating the scene a second time … the problem seems to have gone away.

Obviously this is NOT an explanation of WHY it is happening … but perhaps it is a useful “work around.”

Nice find. I wonder if instead of hiding using a layer would work better…

@bmike … good question.

Currently all of the cutting planes are Tagged the same. So, as you suggested, I tried putting all of the horizontal cutting planes on a new, separate Tag … and then hiding that Tag.

That did not seem to fix the original problem with the visibility of the vertical cutting planes.

How did you hide it? via the sections menu icon? I tested it here and it still didn’t work

The setting of the Hidden vs Unhidden attribute was done via the Select pull down menu … Hide/Unhide.

And the actual turning on/off of the visibility of the Section Planes was then done via the View pull down menu … checking or unchecking “Hidden Objects.”

Obviously saving the Scene with the new attributes was essential.

Also … I was selecting/deselecting the horizontal section planes only after changing the camera position to get a clear “off axis” view of the horizontal section planes … see screen shot below.

And then after updating the Scene with these new attributes I then had to update the Scene a second time with the correct (original) orthogonal camera position.

Also, please note, I am doing all of this in SketchUp 2024. Do not know if that is an issue or not.

Now it worked. When I was doing it in plan view it didn’t work, but I changed the camera position and it worked.

Thank you very much for your patience, it helped me a lot

ANOTHER SOLUTION: Use the mouse scroll to orbit and change the camera position, move the section plane, press ctrl+z to return to the initial position, click again in the scene. Click once more and quickly update the scene. It also worked

@bmike, how could I have missed this?
The OP’s red line threw me off. You are right in that his question is about the BB->BB line and the CC->CC line are missing in top view.
(This issue has been mentioned before)

Thank you for making me look/read a little bit better.
