Why does the section fill not show in layout sometimes? The groups that it is cutting through is a solid, and when it is set to raster it shows the section fill. As soon as I change it to vector or hybrid it loses the fill? I checked and rechecked that it was a clean solid group but doesn’t seem to matter sometimes.
I’ve seen that with Section Fill on occasion, too. Not sure why it happens, though. I rarely use the native Section Fill and prefer Section Cut Face from Sketchucation because it creates actual geometry so the faces can receive different textures.
An example:
I’ve known this to happen if your solid is not a solid.
A while back someone posted a problem file and it was a weird one – my gut feeling was that if they had redone the model they would have solved the section issues.
The model did have a lot of joinery mouldings.
Possibilities:
Something not solid.
Move the plane up or down a small amount.
What happens when you switch from raster to hybrid and to vector?
I’ve seen this happen with solids, too. (I make every bottom level component in every model solid.)
Sorry Dave. Typed to fast, didn’t read.
I have had luck moving the plane up or down just a bit.
Also double clicking into the SKP window in LayOut, orbiting a bit, exiting, and it will often render correctly, then resetting the model.
Or explode the group, remake it.
Worst case cheat and draw over it in LayOut.
No worries.
Moving the section plane can sometimes fix it.
Do you mean “resetting” the model?
That’ll get the job done.
Yes, resetting the SKP view in the LayOut panel. Autocorrect and fat fingers don’t help typing on the tram.
