I use Sketchup for Schools to teach my introductory students. I also have a license for educator Sketchup PRO for advanced students. Our schools uses Google for access to all educational software.
Recently something has changed and I can no longer login to the Schools version as I get an infinite login/error loop. However, I can log in to Pro just fine. My login ID is the same for both products. What do I need to do so that I can login to both versions reliably?
I have not had a response from CaseyG. School resumes next week after spring break. Is there anyone else that can help me get this resolved in the next few days?
HI @lutgen, thanks for the post and thanks for the @ command tweenulzeven. I was busy at an event yesterday and am only able to respond now. Hopefully we can get your issue resolved easily lutgen.
If you already had access to SketchUp for Schools and are just now seeing an error or looping login that points toward a setting getting messed up somewhere in the user settings on your end. Sometimes things get reset or changed by mistake during software updates, so I doubt it was anything you did intentionally.
The usual things to check are third party cookies and popups. Specifically, they need to be allowed for our site so that the login process can resolve correctly. Can you double check that those are allowed for our site?
I asked our school IT administrator about pop-up’s and apparently, there is a school-wide set of rules governing all laptops. I explained the issue to him, and he tweaked something, so now I am able to log in to both the Schhols and Pro versions at the same time! Yay!
You can close the support posting I made or add a comment for all to double-check pop-up settings on their laptop and with their IT administrators. Thanks for your help!
Thanks for getting back to me @lutgen. I am thrilled to hear that everything is working again and hope your students enjoy using SketchUp again as much as I do.
As for my name, yes I am the same Casey G as the component in the template. All of the people that appear in SketchUp at the start have been either SketchUp employees or famous educators in the case of our school version. I was meant to be a placeholder for a testing version but one thing led to another and now I am in a actual released version of SketchUp. I was honored to be given the chance and hope that whoever replaces me is an awesome educator.
