I imported a jpg of the future house, trying to show the foundation dimensions/placement…
I followed the directions to scale the jpg, by measuring a known distance, entering the correct distance, agreeing to scale the image, which it does, but other dimensions are not to scale, then when they are, the previous scale/correct distance changes… how to solve??? I am measuring survey stakes… I am a retired photographer, I understand perspectives/angles/compressions. I expected closer numbers, not to be off by 75-100%
Thanks for the reply… not sure how the content or location of the photo taken/imported, RAW or jpg. or the .skp file adds to/helps solve my simple question… photo was taken in Asia, Nikon, 85mm lens…
You can try using the photo match feature and scale it once you’ve modeled the shape you want to, you can even use the photo as texture on the geometry you model. Of course it depends on the quality of the photo and if the axis are easily recognized to make it as accurate as possible, some photos is imposible to place properly the axis so the result would be a mess 99% of the times.
problem solved… well not completely, but, enough to make it visually work better…
I rotated the image to vertical, so the vanishing point, on the green axis more matches the image imported… my depth measurements are not exact, but, very close, it will work visually…
