It would be very beneficial if Sketchup for Mac would remember where the file is located when you “SAVE AS” instead of defaulting to the DOCUMENTS folder. I don;t know anyone who uses the Documents folder for serious organization in professional work.

I use the Documents folder for professional work. Inside of it I have client folders, resources, technical data, client templates, etc etc.

I think what you are asking is when you do a ‘Save As…’ to immediately go to the folder the current file is in. That would be handy, but I most often use ‘Save A Copy As…’ and IIRC that does take you to the folder of the current file.

I stand corrected re: general use of Documents Folder. I have folders within folders of client work in a carefully organized scheme that builds its own archive as I go. Its often five to ten clicks a to save new version to the starting location. This is the only program I run on a regular basis that does not have the basic functionality of save-as to original file location instead of to a master location.
