Want to rotate castle with landscape 360 degrees around the z-axis as if the camera were rotating around the landscape. Doesn’t work with rotate tool, nor with orbit tool and scenes. Then render the rotation to video.
Of course Rotate won’t do this. It moves the model in the model space.
You can do this with Position Camera and multiple scenes. Usethe vertices of a large circle or polygon centered on the point of interest as guides for where to place the camera for each scene. The more scenes you have the smoother the camera movement will be.
Could not find the name of the extention this fast, but do know there are extentions that could help you out with this.
Try search the sketchucation site for camera of view tools
There are at least a couple of them from Sketchucation. 360 Camera and Camera Circle. Both of those plugins are quite old and haven’t had any updates so they may not work in newer versions of SketchUp anyway. There’s also Curic Spin Camera from the Extension Warehouse.
This is easily done with native tools though.
Using the vertices of an octagon for positioning the camera.
The resulting animation.
Camera could also be set up to follow any other path, too.
You can also use Animator, with a Camera Around.
Then you can render it, for instance in VRay or Thea.
It’s very simple indeed. As a test, I placed the object in the middle, drew a circle around it and placed the camera on the corners. Camera position and height were good but the camera did not stay focused on the center of the object ??
Get the Position Camera tool. Click on the vertex and hold while you drag the cursor to the desired center of the view. Then release the mouse and create the scene.
Works fine with Animator and Camera Around. Thanks everyone.
Indeed it was. !! THANKS
