So double clicking into the viewport works but whatever you might be doing to activate Orbit isn’t. What are you using for a mouse?
As I wrote before, you shouldn’t need to be getting into the viewports in the first place.
its never done this before, im wondering if I should try and restart entire desktop.
Restarting the computer won’t hurt.
That’s common when opening older fiiles. Not to worry.
I didn’t think this was an issue though
its doing it on every file I open not just the one I sent
got it! it was what Collin said.
right click select camera tools and select orbit. I was on pan.
thank you!!! sketchon!
I am experiencing this exact problem with the orbit tool. I cannot seem to figure out this right click and camera tools setting…
Are you trying to orbit the camera in a viewport in LayOut? If so, you first need to enable editing in LayOut’s Preferences>General settings. Be aware that modifying the camera in the viewport can create major issues if you link dimensions and annotations to the model after doing so.
the ‘enable SketchUp model editing’ is ticked
Then just double click on the viewport and orbit, zoom, or pan as desired.
that is EXACTLY the issue… I cannot seem to activate the orbit tool. I only have the pan hand
ok this is user error obviously as now i seem to have camera tools…
This is an absolutely idiotic “innovation”. Why break something that worked well? Why should I switch between the camera tools now if I could use the same keys as in Sketchup itself. It’s incomprehensible.
