I’m running into intermittent issues importing .rvt files from Revit 2026 into SketchUp 2026. Certain files consistently return an “Import Failed” message, while others come in without issue.
File size and element count don’t appear to be the cause, and I’ve previously been able to import similar models successfully using the same setup. I do have an active SketchUp Studio license, and the Revit importer has worked for me in the past. I am running the most current Revit Importer 1.2026.1.4
At this point, I’m trying to determine whether this is a version compatibility issue, a file-specific problem, or something related to the importer itself.
Are there any known issues with Revit 2026 imports, or recommended workarounds (e.g., using an earlier importer version, export settings, or file preparation steps)? I’m open to alternative workflows if needed to keep this project moving. 3D .dwg works as well, but creates very triangulated geometry and no texture from Revit. It is a large building, so re-texturing is not ideal.
The primary reason Revit files fail to import is that the file is a Central model or if the file does not have a 3D View (all 3D views were deleted in Revit). Before importing into SketchUp, ensure you detach the file from central. If that is not the case, please, share the file with us so we can analyse if there is any object failing the import.
@l.delgado@MichaelGross Also please note there are some fixes in the latest version (1.2026.1.5) currently in beta test on labs.trimble.com so if you have time to try that it would be very helpful!
