Hi I’m a student and I built a model in Revit 2026 with rft families in my model. I went to import my rvt. file into SketchUp and it keeps saying ‘import failed’. My file isn’t centralized, I’m up to date on the extension and I’ve restarted, signed out/in and still can’t import my model. I do have 3D views and the farthest I’ve gotten to import is getting to ‘New Construction’ then it fails at 20%. I’ve tried my back up files as well as my main file and am getting the same issue.
So I realize I have SketchUp Pro, and I’m getting import fail when I go to import the revit file. I updated the importer, restarted SketchUp and tried again.
Was the import successful after the update?
Your profile indicates you have a SketchUp Studio subscription so it should allow .rvt imports.
No it was not successful.
So you have Pro not Studio?
I was able to import my file into SketchUp! Bad news is that it almost immediately bug splatted and now I can’t even open SketchUp anymore without bug splatting.
Time to open a ticket with Support.
