Reverse clipping mask

Is there any way of reversing a clipping mask? It masks out the area I would like to keep…

It’s not easy to create ‘voids’ in LayOut, a simple substraction tool would be nice. If you use the line tool to set the ‘void’ and then add another vertex and drag that to an existing, it kind of works:

Another method is to create a copy of the clipped viewport and apply the a new “void” linework to it.

Ctrl-C copies clipped viewport; Ctrl-V pastes in place; draw new clipping linework; select just one of the 2x identical clipped viewport copies (one click will select just the top copy) plus the linework; right-click and select “create clipping mask”.

However I’d also love for there to be a built-in tool to add voids!

Like this, maybe?
