Rendering SketchUp model with Enscape or VRay

Hi all,

Can someone tell me–when using rendering software on a SketchUp model, is the quality of the rendering dependent on the resolution of the textures used in the SketchUp model or doesn’t it matter that much? (I am very new to SU…any advice is helpful)

THANKS.

Take a 2048 px image for example and resize it to 256 px in a 2D graphics program, then import them both into SketchUp and see how they look (see photo).

Quality textures go a long way toward making it realistic. But other factors like lighting and and modeling are just as important. Also remember that the image of the texture is only one part of how it looks. There are bump and normal maps, and other material variables covering refraction, reflection and light absorption that are just as important, if not more.
