Well, i didn’t think it is relevant, and also not owning myself such a license… is a bit of a lie…!
But I will correct my profile.!

“Loose to Groups”
vs.
“isolate all connected individually into their own groups in one click” (your words)
vs.
“Select all connected and make a group”
vs.
Wisext “Quick Group” (defined like this by him: group all connected faces and edges that are not in a group, a fast way to create volumes)

I don’t feel bad cause I didn’t payed attention at all to the first expression - it si truly meaningless and counterintuitive, I don’t play games, I constantly have many things to do, and constantly preoccupied with much too many subjects (apparently) not related to each other at all, and we also live in a world flooded with information and knowledge.
And I should have payed attention to that expression…!?
No, I don’t have time for games, really don’t have.!

I’m afraid my indifference has overwhelmed me. Good luck to you and your feature requests.

It shouldn’t take an hour for you to do something like that.

For the second time i see that we speak a different language.!

“Select all connected and make a group”

Read again: (“Select” → “All Connected” and → “Make Group”)

This are not words, this are commands, we don’t tell fantasies or stories, we speak a precise language for precise results, and we don’t redefine black and white, cause we don’t have time to lose in abstract theories.

Except that’s what you seem to be doing. Spend some time learning to use the software the way it is designed to work. You’re wasting time and energy trying to make it conform to the way you think it should work. If you can’t manage to use the tools as designed, you should use different tools.

Now two hours later and you still haven’t done what you said you’d do. At this stage I’m with @Box.

I’m just amused.!
Most of the time, the main problem with the womans, is that it is very easy to find them completely lost in a conversation - if that conversation encompasses a few too many details, the fog keeps growing and they start to forget which is what, and they mix up the threads of the conversation so much that it becomes useless to say even a word more.

We got over this about 29 posts ago.

I’ll reduce the msgbox usage so its more agile and less spam, but its working.
SketchUp_UdU7g25gFG

Native tools and shortcuts to select all connected and group the first one.
Loose to groups on a shortcut to select and group the others.

by “Loose to groups” you mean Chris Fullmer’s one?
didnt know about it, nice.

You don’t have to go to smustard for it, it is available in both the extension warehouse and the sketchucation store.

I didnt found it on Sketchucation but did on EW.
Saddly it currently has a limitation where if you input a large selection, it freezes SU until it finishes. It does finish but may take 2-5min or more depending on hardware/software.
What if user changes his mind in the middle or smth?

Thats why I implemented on mine something I call “freeze prevention”, it stops each 50 created groups asking for continue and also suggests a single group if selection is rlly large.

But it needs more polishing, so I’ll study Chris’s one and improve mine.
Thanks for showing it out :v:

Hello,

I am the developer of “Quick Group” and I am surprised that it is mentioned since I did not make it available to users. But indeed the code is present with the two Wisext tools that I make available (“3D Offset” and “Find and Report (ex SU2XL)”).

Amused by this surprising interest, I added access to “Quick Groupfrom version 0.700.2 of the Wisext tools. Concretely, you can install “Find And Report” and in the menu Extensions >> Find And Report >> About the Wisext tools, you open a window where you have a button “Enable or disable tools”. Click on this button and a window will offer to enable tools. Put “yes” for Quick Group and restart SketchUp. You will get a toolbar with an icon and access in the contextual menu.

I don’t offer easy access to “Quick Group” at this time because I don’t plan to support it. My priority is “Find And Report”. It’s just an Easter Egg (the season is coming) in response to this post.

:slightly_smiling_face: Thank you for your reply.!
And i have to tell you that i have access to all those commands, from the moment i discovered them; it is indeed a little cumbersome not being normally accessible, but i still can access them.
