So I’m trying to follow the tutorial for using the protractor tool, which mentions measuring an edge. However, I’m not clear on how to execute the difference between just measuring from an edge and actually rotating that edge. The tute mentions clicking at the source vertex, then moving along to a point on the edge where you want to begin measuring from, clicking again, and then rotating to measure an angle. But I when I position the Protractor like this, it already seems to select the edge, so that the edge rotates when I try to make a measurement, giving me a bizarrely shaped geometry.
It sounds like you are mixing the tools up.
Here you see the Rotate tool will move the geometry but the Protractor tool will create a guide.
