Problems with indentation and bulleted/numbered lists in posts

#1

Continuing the discussion from How do you "invite" a user, thus earning the "Promoter" badge?:

I just tried adding a bulleted list in Discourse’s sandboxed trial forum and it indents exactly as I want! So here goes another try:

Bulleted List

  • Bullet Point 1
  • Bullet Point 2
  • Bullet Point 3

Frown. Not what I wanted. What did I do different? Let’s try

Bulleted List

  • Item 1
  • Item 2
  • Item 3

That’s it! To get a bulleted list to indent, make sure there is a blank line immediately above it! Eureka!

PS: Tagging @Cotty so he’ll know that discussion on this formatting issue has moved to a separate topic.

How do you "invite" a user, thus earning the "Promoter" badge, and how to make bulleted lists?

I now see you where after something different to my perception…

  1. I didn’t split it off as it’s your topic to ask whatever you wish
  2. I thought it would be resolved in a single reply…
  • without
  • adding
  • a quote…

Here’s my next note to self:

Don’t add off topic notes to myself!

That being said, Earning badges, and how do to so is rather different than post formatting problems. I understand why you didn’t reply as a new topic. It didn’t occur to me as didn’t imagine ANY responses!
