Hi, I have the following issue:
I’m modeling normally in sketchup, and when I use the standard views (front, left, right … etc) everything looks normal (as seen in the first image attached).
But then when I modify the geolocation of my project, it forces me to rotate the entire model to locate it in an appropriate way in the geolocation that I previously loaded. So what I do is modify the axes of sketchup so that when I continue drawing and modeling, the axes are aligned with the new rotation of the project. The problem is that when I do this, the standard views no longer work well as before. (as seen in the second image attached)
There is some way that by modifying the axes of the project, the standard views align the new axes and not the old ones (those that come by default when starting a new sketchup file).
Is there? No, SketchUp’s standard views always apply the system’s (original) axes.
You can ajust the drawing axes according to your rotated model and save/use appropriate scenes instead of the standard views.
For plan view: red and green along facades, (blue will be perpendicular pointing up in modeling space). Then right click on an axis in empty space and select ‘Align View’ in the context menu. Save that view to a scene.
For elevations: red along the base of your facade and green up along the facade, (blue will be perpendicular to red green but horizontal in modeling space). Then right click on an axis in empty space and select ‘Align View’ in the context menu. Save that view to a scene.
