I am experiencing very unusual behaviour of SketchUp layout, which I haven’t experienced before:
no1 problem: When enlarging a parallel projection the window looses it’s scale even tough “preserve scale” is ticked. The unusual thing about this is that it doesn’t do this consistently…sometimes it keeps the scale, sometimes it changes it.
no2 problem: dimension of the front view and side view is different in the same scale ( the front view is appears to be a different scale, although it is set to the same scale and looks the same scale) . The side elevation matches the model dimensions, whilst the front elevation doesn’t…
Same model, two different parallel projection - they are set to the same scale.. The left one is the right scale. I have deleted and replaced the right elevation using the left elevation video…ir consistently shows (wrongly ) 25’ instead of 19’…
When I’ve seen this happen something is snapping to a point in space or behind the model, and several times in my own work that I inadvertently rotated a parallel scene without realizing, causing me to snap (without paying attention) to the wrong point.
If you want you can DM me a DropBox link and I can take a look.
Similar to OP, I have had several similar viewport resizing issues in Layout 26.2 - dimensions and scale being affected. It certainly feels like a regression in Layout.
There are a bunch of posts about 2026.2 issues. I posted one regarding auto text for a view label not showing scale correctly. I probably put it on the wrong thread, but its out there. What concerns me is no team members are even acknowledging the issues in the many threads. 2026.2 was looking promising but I am back to an older version of Layout once again! We really need a stable version ! Forget new features.
