Problem with apple max 3 Metal 3

Hi
on my Mac M3 Max Sonoma 14.7.4 Metal 3 Sketchup pro 2024/2025 it doesn’t work fine ( slowdowns etc.) when I activate the “new graphic engine” and “AppleMax 3”
I had this problem on 2024 and was hoping 2025 would fix the problem and no!
So I have to stick to the classic engine

when I select an object the selection frame remains static but the object is not activated/selected. After two or three attempts it works but impossible to work in these conditions.

apparently it’s not a massive bug that touches everyone.

so, sketchup uses metal2. not that it’s changing anything to the issue at hand.
what sort of hardware are you using ? mini, studio, macbook ? external screens ? if so how many / what config ?

it looks like your GPU doesn’t handle whatever configuration you have well.

Thank you for reply
My Mac is a Macbookpro Max M3 36go memory.
You gave me the solution!:
This bug happens on my second screen and not on the Mac screen.

External screen: 60 mhz… not enough I guess

well I’m using 60Hz too and don’t have a problem. but it could be a defect in the screen, or a cable problem, or…

can you borrow / get your hands on another cable, and /or screen to check that ?

I have two external screens (which I don’t use simultaneously) and each has the same bug. I will try another cable
Same bug with a very good HDMI cable

uh, do you use an adapter between the hdmi cable and your mac ?

it’s strange, there is no latency when the sketchup window is displayed in full screen on the external screen. I made several attempts but I still have to push the experiments. There is a built-in hdmi port in my mac book pro

Are your external monitors DisplayPort or Thunderbolt capable? If so I would suggest switching to use one of these type of cables.

Yes they are but I think I don’t have the right cable I will try another one

I believe (generally) that DP & Thunderbolt are higher bandwidth than HDMI.

Also, wondering, what is your Fast Feedback setting in the Preferences > Graphics panel?
